Power management ICs (PMICs) supervisors are special-purpose device designed to monitor important supply voltages in a system. Working Principle of MAX706SEUA+

The MAX706SEUA+ supervisor is designed to detect, monitor and manage several power conditions in a power system. The power-on reset (POR) comparator is the main component in the MAX706SEUA+. This comparator is used to monitor the system\'s power source and then issues an TTL high compatible assertion when the power source exceeds the POR threshold voltage. The POR output can be used to initiate a reset signal, while a manual reset input provides an external reset control signal.

The power-fail (VOF) comparator is used to detect a decrease in the system supply voltage when it falls below a programmed threshold voltage. This signal can be used to initiate a power-down procedure or switch over to a backup power supply. The MAX706SEUA+ also provides low voltage (LV) detection.
