MAX742CWP+T is a highly efficient DC-to-DC switching controller designed for step-down and flyback switch-mode power supplies (SMPS). The device integrates a high side power MOSFET gate driver, constant frequency current mode controller, and a low-side output driver in a compact, 3 mm × 3 mm, 8 Ld Pb-free TSSOP package. Application Field

Working Principle

The MAX742CWP+T is a current mode switching controller designed to work as a constant frequency, pulse-width-modulated (PWM) converter. It uses an internal oscillator to set the frequency of the PWM and utilizes an external voltage divider to set the reference voltage. It also features programmable soft-start, adjustable frequency and dead-time control, over-voltage protection, and an adjustable peak-current-limit threshold. The PWM outputs are used to drive external power MOSFETs which are connected to the positive and negative output terminals.
