Working Principle

The output of the resistor network is fed into the amplifying circuitry, where the signal is amplified and then fed into an analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The ADC converts the temperature signal into a digital output. The digital output resolves to a value of 8, 10, or 12 bits, depending on the user’s preference.

The MAX7501MSA+ also features an alarm output to alert the user of rising temperatures. The alarm output is connected to the V_alarm pin, and it is triggered when the temperature exceeds the programmed temperature threshold. Furthermore, the MAX7501MSA+ can be externally monitored via a serial port interface, allowing for temperature monitoring from a distance.
