The MAX772ESA-T is a member of the DC DC switching controller family of products offered by PMIC (Power Management IC). It is an ideal solution for providing a regulated output voltage from an input source of varying voltage. The MAX772ESA-T provides an easy-to-use, reliable and efficient method for controlling and monitoring any DC to DC power supply.

The primary application of the MAX772ESA-T is in battery backed systems, where the input source is from either a solar panel, generator, rectified AC power source or a battery. When the input source is a battery, the MAX772ESA-T provides the necessary switching and control to maintain a constant output voltage, while preventing the battery from being over discharged.

The MAX772ESA-T is also an excellent choice for pulsed loads, due to its very fast transient response time. When the load current is changed, the MAX772ESA-T will quickly switch and regulate to the new load current. This ensures that the output voltage is both stable and accurate.

The MAX772ESA-T works by sensing the output voltage. When the output starts to deviate from its set point, the MAX772ESA-T automatically adjusts the duty cycle of its integrated Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) outputs, which in turn adjusts the current flow to the load to maintain the output voltage.
