The MAX792LCSE(+) is an advanced power management integrated circuit (PMIC) designed to monitor, manage and monitor power sources in most applications. The MAX792LCSE+ works by monitoring the input voltage and current levels of the voltage supply being monitored. If the voltage or current exceeds either the pre-set voltage or current limits, the MAX792LCSE+ will trigger an overvoltage or undervoltage event. If the overvoltage or undervoltage event is detected, the MAX792LCSE+ can either perform a reset, or if it is connected to a reset pin or other actionable item, it can take corrective action. Likewise, the MAX792LCSE+ will monitor the voltage and current levels of any connected subsystems. If any of the voltage or current levels exceed either the pre-set voltage or current limits, the MAX792LCSE+ can trigger an actionable item.

The MAX792LCSE+ also has advanced temperature sensing capabilities. Its temperature sensing capabilities allow it to turn off or reduce its output power when the circuit temperature exceeds pre-set levels, preventing unnecessary power consumption. Additionally, its overvoltage and undervoltage protection features protect the internal circuitry from damage in the event of a voltage or current overload.
