It can operate from a single supply voltage as low as 1.2V with minimal power consumption, while providing optimized power control and automatic reset generation. The MAX793SCSE+ features an undervoltage monitor (UVLO) that will assert a reset signal when the supply voltage drops below a predefined threshold. It can also be configured to detect and assert reset for a specific window of supply voltage. This feature is especially useful for automotive designs as it will ensure the system remains in a reset state until system power is stabilized. In addition to UVLO, the MAX793SCSE+ also has an adjustable Watchdog Timer (WDT) for system reliability and monitoring. This WDT can be used to detect a variety of system events, such as software lock-up or a runaway code execution. When the system detects an issue, the WDT will assert a reset signal which will initiate a system reboot.
