The MAX9246GUM+ is a high-speed, low-power data transceiver IC designed to operate over copper and optical links in data centers and computing systems. The data is then converted to a high-speed bitstream (HSB) and transmitted via the Transmit Serial Interface (TSI) or the Parallel Interface. In Receive mode, the incoming data is converted from the HSB format to an NRZ format and is then received at the receiving side. The data is then received via the Receive Serial Interface (RSI) or the Parallel Interface.
The MAX9246GUM+ also supports temperature compensation through the on-chip thermal sensor, which allows optimal performance over a range of temperatures. The device is designed to comply with a range of industry-standard protocols, including PCIe and SONET/SDH. In addition, the MAX9246GUM+ supports a range of safety features, including Automatic Eye Protection (AEP) and Link Fail Detection (LFD).
