The MAXREFDES48# is an evaluation board designed for DC/DC and AC/DC off-line SMPS applications. It is a complete power solution for low-power to medium-power, DC/DC and AC/DC conversion, with a wide variety of features that make it the go-to choice for many power applications. The MAXREFDES48# integrates an efficient switching power stage with a comprehensive suite of analog and digital peripherals which enable the user to quickly develop, evaluate and validate their design, significantly reducing time to market.

The MAXREFDES48# features a 2A-capable synchronous buck DC/DC converter, designed to provide power up to 72W. The integrated direct- and forward-conversion architectures provide a wide variety of output voltages and configurations such as single, split, and dual outputs. The designer can also use the integrated high-efficiency MOSFETs for their efficiency and ultra-low profile applications. The board features a wide input range from nine to 36VDC, to complement the wide output voltage range.

For more complex power designs, the MAXREFDES48# features integrated pulse voltage and current transformers, a flexible power system manager (PSM), four error amplifiers, three buck-boost converters and three buck converters. All of these features, combined with the power manager IC, make the MAXREFDES48# ideal for providing power to multiple products with multiple power rails and a variety of circuits including telecommunication, industrial, automotive and consumer applications. The designer can select from three power management and control architectures:Serial, Synchronous Serial, and Parallel.

The board supports a variety of output voltages and voltages ranges, up to an impressive 600V and can provide high isolation voltages of 5,200V. The MAXREFDES48# also supports a wide range of input voltages from nine up to 36V, making it an ideal solution for a wide range of applications. Additionally, the board supports analog, digital, and PWM control.

The user can make use of the comprehensive suite of including software, algorithms and best-in-class solutions for minimum system noise and greatest efficiency levels. The board’s online support allows the user to get the most out of their design, as they will have access to extensive documentation, step-by-step tutorials, and real-time remote support.

The MAXREFDES48# is the perfect solution for low-power to medium-power designs in AC/DC off-line low power applications.
