The MAZ21600AG is a series of single Zener diodes typically used in electronic devices. It restricts the flow of current in either direction, meaning it can be used to regulate voltage, but also protect circuits from overvoltage. The Zener diode has two distinct regions that are separated by a reverse-biased junction. This is where the breakdown voltage is much higher due to the presence of the aluminium diffusion barrier and helps to limit the amount of current that passes through. It also creates an “avalanche” effect, which protects the circuit from over-voltage.
