MBR760 is a diode rectifier, single in form, and it can be used for a variety of applications. It is built with 200 volts of maximum peak recverse voltage (VRRM), forward vlotage and is able to dissipate up to 3 amp peaks. The maximum working temperature of this rectifier is 150 degrees Celsius. The main purpose of this part is to convert electrical energy from alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). Because of the extremely low forward voltage drop of MBR760, it works very well in applications such as snubber and power supplies where the power dissipation is high and noise reduction is required. This rectifier is commonly used in motor control, power supply, inverter and DC motor applications, medical devices and welding analyzers. MBR760’s working principle is based on the fact that it allows current to move in one direction, while preventing current flow in the opposite direction. It is made up of two PN junction diodes that are connected in reverse direction and allow current to flow to its anode when a positive voltage is applied. When the voltage returns to negative the current will not flow, blocking positive current from flowing back from the anode to the cathode. The maximum ratings of this diode rectifier are 200V VRRM, 175V VRMS, 1A DC forward current, 3A peak surge current, 1100mΩ equivalent series resistance, 104Ω junction capacitance and 0.4A peak reverse current. Its forward current, reverse recovery time, junction capacitance and forward voltage drop are all much lower than other silicon-based Schottky diodes with similar ratings. This makes it suitable for use in high frequency applications that require low junction capacitance, low reverse recovery time, high speed and long-term reliability. In conclusion, MBR760 is a single diode rectifier with numerous applications due to its functionality, low forward voltage drop and superior electrical characteristics. Its simple design and low power dissipation make it ideal for applications such as motor control, power supplies, inverters, DC motors and medical equipment.
