Working principle

The MBRD330 is a rectifier consisting of two Schottky barrier diodes connected in series. The diodes are fabricated using the MOS process, which allows the construction of more complex and reliable circuits than with conventional junction diodes. The MBRD330 is designed to minimize forward voltage drop, reverse recovery time and reverse leakage. It has a very low forward voltage drop and is capable of carrying high current, meaning it is perfect for high efficiency, low power applications.

The working principle of the MBRD330 is simple. During the forward conduction period, current flows from the positive terminal to the negative terminal of the diode. Due to the Schottky design, the amount of voltage drop across the diode is minimized, passed from 0.5V to 0.15, making it ideal for power efficiency applications. During the reverse conduction period, current flows from the negative terminal to the positive terminal, and the diode behaves as an open circuit, meaning no current can flow. This makes it ideal for protecting circuits from reverse polarity.
