The MBRD360TR is a single-phase Schottky bridge rectifier with an average forward-current rating of 360 amperes (A) and an operating junction temperature ranging from -55C to +150C. The MBRD360TR includes a high junction-temperature performance (HJP-grade) diode that helps reduce losses in power distribution applications.

The MBRD360TR has a typical reverse recovery time of 8 us which helps increase efficiency while decreasing input and output capacitance, thus reducing conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues. MBRD360TR Working Principle:

A bridge rectifier is a circuit consisting of four or more diodes forming a bridge-like configuration to convert an alternating current (AC) into a direct current (DC). The MBRD360TR includes four high-current Schottky diodes which are wired in a bridge recession to efficiently rectify the AC input voltage to provide a DC output.

The MBRD360TR utilizes two DC-side current paths that work in parallel to safely handle twice the rated current. The device also permits dealing with AC voltages higher than the typical DC output voltage rating. This enables use of the MBRD360TR in applications in which there is a need to accept AC input and convert it to a lower DC output voltage.

The bridge rectifier enables efficient conversion of AC to DC through two independent paths—one with a forward-biased diode, and the other with a reverse-biased diode. When the AC input voltage reaches its maximum positive peak, the forward-biased diode carries the current while the reverse-biased diode blocks the current, thus providing a unidirectional current flow to the DC load.

When the AC input voltage reaches its maximum negative peak, the forward-biased diode blocks the current, and the reverse-biased diode carries the current, again providing unidirectional current flow to the DC load.

The MBRD360TR also includes a heat sinkable package, providing excellent heat dissipation, ensuring long life and system reliability. In addition, the bridge rectifier has low reverse-leakage current, low forward voltage drop, and low thermal resistance, providing increased overall system efficiency.
