1. Describe

Local Interconnect Network (LIN) is a serial communication protocol designed to support automotive networking in conjunction with Controller Area Network (CAN). As the lowest level of a hierarchical network, LIN can cost- effectively communicate with sensors and actuators when all the functionality of CAN is not required. The three 33662 versions are designed to run at different maximum baud rates. The 33662LEF and 33662BLEF and 33662SEF and 33662BSEF offer normal baud rate (20 kbps), while the 33662JEF and 33662BJEF offer slow baud rate (10 kbps). They integrate fast baud rates (above 100 kbps) reported by the RXD pin for test and programming modes. They offer excellent EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) and radiated emission performance, ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) robustness, and safe behavior against LIN bus shorts to ground or LIN bus leakage in low power mode. The device uses SMARTMOS technology.
