The MC74AC377DWR2G is designed to drive larger loads and can also be used in many applications.

Working Principle
MC74AC377DWR2G consists of two sets of two-way multiplexers, four separate internal clocking circuits and four sets of isolation transistors. Each multiplexer has eight data input lines, two control lines, two feedback lines and two outputs.
The two upper control lines enable the data select multiplexer to capture the data on the ‘Data’ port and propagate it to the output via the ‘Output A’ or ‘Output B’ lines, depending on the state of the ‘Select’ line. The multiplexer selects the data that is held on the ‘Data’ input port while the ‘Select’ line is held high. The other multiplexer allows the data to be sent to the ‘Data’ port while the ‘Select’ line is held low.
The internal clocking circuit is composed of a separate clocking and reset circuit per multiplexer. A latch circuit is used to protect the output from any variations in the input data. The first clock cycle initiates an internal reset which sets the output to a predetermined state. This ensures that the data on the ‘Data’ and ‘Select’ port is stable before the output is changed. The second clock cycle will toggle the output, unless the ‘Reset’ line is held low.
The separate ‘Enable’ line ensures that the multiplexer only acts upon a valid ‘Data’ and ‘Select’ port. When the ‘Enable’ line is low, the multiplexer is disabled, and the output will not change. This feature is especially useful, as it provides the user with the ability to stop the operation of the circuit when necessary. The MC74AC377DWR2G is also equipped with a complementary output for ‘Output A’ and ‘Output B’, allowing for a wider range of applications.
The MC74AC377DWR2G can be used in digital and computer applications, as well as in medium to high-density interface designs. It is highly versatile and can be configured in a variety of ways to meet the requirements of the system.
