The reset output delivers a valid active reset, designed for ESD robustness, and has open-drain type, asserting a RESET for Vcc less than the reset trip point and de-asserts after Vcc exceeds the trip voltage. The reset output can also be active-high or active-low by using the available HW reset pin.

The MCP130-460FI/TO also has a open-drain output pin with a positive going edge to generate a 100µs pulse when an out-of-tolerance voltage is detected (VDD). This feature provides system designers with the ability to track signals at the detection edge and take appropriate system action, such as a system reset or power-up/down sequence. The device also includes active and shutdown operation modes, increasing system flexibility and better protection from high-energy transients and voltages outside the specified tolerance range.
