TheMCP1318T-29LE/OTVAOis a new integrated supervisory device from Microchip Technology that is designed to improve the robustness and flexibility of system power management solutions. The device integrates a voltage supervisor, programmable watchdog timer, and an adjustable voltage supervisor reset to provide a comprehensive system reset solution for system protection.The MCP1318T-29LE/OTVAO is ideally suited for systems that require enhanced system level reset protection, including systems with multiple and complex power sources. The device supports a wide operating voltage range and offers both open-drain and push-pull reset outputs for a wide variety of system architectures. The device operates from either a single 12V supply or dual 5V/3V supply and is available in a small SOT-23 package.The voltage supervisor portion of the MCP1318T-29LE/OTVAO provides a reset signal to the system upon detection of an undervoltage or overvoltage condition. The hysteresis of the supervisor is programmable using external resistors, allowing for greater flexibility in system designs. The voltage supervisor also supports a preset reset threshold (V TH ) to prevent system start-up without proper power sequencing. The watchdog timer is programmable using an external capacitor or resistor and provides a reset signal to the system upon expiration of the timer period, thus preventing system lock-ups due to software failure. The adjustable reset timer is programmable by an external capacitor and provides a reset signal to the system upon expiration of the timer period. The open-drain output of the MCP1318T-29LE/OTVAO provides an active low reset signal to the system using a 1.0V logic level trigger. The push-pull output provides an active low reset signal to the system using a 1.0V logic level trigger. Both outputs are capable of driving up to 50mA of current, allowing them to drive a wide range of external devices.The MCP1318T-29LE/OTVAO is designed for applications such as embedded system controllers, DSPs, automotive microcontrollers, digital power supplies, and other applications requiring system reset protection.
