As an Interface-Controllers product, it controls the flow of data between the protocol controller and an external CAN network and as such, provides designers with a maximum of flexibility when monitoring and managing data communications in their embedded systems.

The model MCP2510-E/P from Microchip Technology, Inc. is a special CAN controller product tailored for automotive applications. It provides the user with full "CAN FILTER" capability and two flexible transmit/receive muxes for multiple interfaces. It features a receiving FIFO with field buffers, a wakeup buffer and an internal resistor divider to reduce logic interface case.
