MCP79411-I/ST is a real-time clock (RTC) that provides an interface between the internal clock and calendar and the external environment, enabling numerous control and timing functions in embedded systems.The device makes it possible to control and synchronize events on a real-time basis, allowing a wide range of applications.

The integrated oscillator module of a MCP79411-I/ST provides a time base that is frequency-insensitive over operating temperature and supply voltage ranges.The temperature compensation feature minimizes the variations of the date/time output in extreme operating conditions. The oscillator module is based on an oscillator circuit that incorporates an external miniaturized quartz crystal.
