Common Mode ChokesCommon mode chokes are a form of electrical power filter used mainly in the power electronics industry to reduce the amount of high frequency noise on a power line, allowing mostly the pure AC waveform to pass. They are also used in signal lines to reduce crosstalk from other lines. Common mode chokes (also known as common mode filters) consist of one or more toroidal or spool-shaped coils of wire that surrounds a central core. The core material can either be made of ferromagnetic material or a combination of ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic materials with high permeability and low losses.The MCZ2010CH900L4TA0G is a specific common mode choke that is used mainly in power electronics applications. Common mode chokes are generally used in applications where high frequencies make up a major part of the signal. This is because of the low pass filtering characteristics of the choke which are not suitable for most low frequency signals. It is therefore important to make sure that the choke is properly tuned to the specific signal frequency of the application.
