The MD7003A is a versatile, high-performance, high-yield array of bipolar junction transistors (BJT) that covers all essential features in terms of current, voltage and switching characteristics. As one of the most reliable BJT types currently available, the MD7003A is a popular choice for all types of electronic circuits and applications. The MD7003A array includes up to 16 pins, offering close to perfect match between transistors and allowing current flows up to 12mA. Its repositionable drain and gate connections add to its versatility, making it suitable for a broad variety of uses, from simple switching to complex timing and logic circuits. As an added advantage, the MD7003A array is also easily overvoltage protection provided thanks to the built-in Vigo pin. The main application field of the MD7003A array lies in its current range, from 1mA to 12mA, and in its wide operating temperature range. This makes the array especially suited for precision, high-performance circuits and for applications where speed, accuracy and reliability are required, like automotive, industrial and medical electronics. The working principle used by the MD7003A array is based on BJT current amplification. BJT stands for “bipolar junction transistor”, a device composed of two different types of semiconductors, the N and the P type, connected in a certain way. When a voltage is applied across the N and P layers, it causes electron and hole current respectively, allowing the current on one side to be regulated by controlling the current on the other. The MD7003A array combines several BJT transistors in a monolithic module, reducing overall size and maximizing the current output. The array’s pins are separated into collector, emitter and gate, sharing the same substrate and connected in parallel to form a single integrated circuit. As current flows through the collector, the emitter is grounded, allowing the gate voltage to control the current flow. In addition, the MD7003A array offers advanced features like temperature-controlled compensation for junctions\' second breakdowns, dielectric breakdown protection and thermal shutdown, further increasing its reliability and performance in a broad range of applications. The MD7003A array is available in small packages, ranging from SOT-23 to SOIC, while U.S. customers can also get the MD7063A-C dual mode package, providing additional versatility.
