Working Principle

The MIC2213-JSYML-TR voltage regulator module works by converting the input voltage (Vin) to a regulated output voltage (Vout). The device consists of an N-Channel MOSFET, a PNP pass transistor, a thermal shutdown circuit and various other components. The MOSFET controls the voltage drop across the pass transistor, while the thermal shutdown circuit limits the output voltage when the die temperature exceeds 150°C.The N-Channel MOSFET is used to control the current flow through the pass transistor, and is also responsible for controlling the drop-out voltage of the module. The input voltage is applied directly to the MOSFET and the pass transistor, and the output voltage is taken from the collector of the pass transistor. The N-Channel MOSFET is also used to control the output current of the module, and can be adjusted via a resistor connected between the Gate and Source of the MOSFET. The MIC2213-JSYML-TR module also features over-voltage and over-temperature protection circuitry. The over-voltage protection circuit is designed to prevent the output voltage from going beyond the rated output voltage, and the over-temperature protection circuit is designed to prevent the die temperature from exceeding 150°C.
