The MIC5236YM is a low-power, low-dropout voltage regulator featuring low output noise, excellent line and load regulation, low temperature coefficients and very fast transients. It is designed to provide highly accurate regulation and good transient response to linear regulation applications, especially for low-power system power supplies and reduced radar loss when used in bridge-regulated supplies. The MIC5236YM is suitable for powering PCBs, general-purpose analog and digital components, automotive applications and consumer electronics.

The MIC5236YM utilizes a wide range of features to provide very stable and precise linear regulation, including load regulation, line regulation, thermal regulation and thermal stability. It can provide an output voltage of as low as 0.3V and up to 7.5V with a precision of ±2%. The output voltage is adjustable by using resistor divider networks. It is also very thermally stable and can maintain excellent regulation accuracy even under full load and high temperature operation.

The MIC5236YM supports a wide input range of 3.4V to 18V with a very low 0.3V dropout voltage. The dropout voltage is further reduced through the use of Load Regulation (SAVR), a special feature of the MIC5236YM that allows the device to reduce its dropout voltage on a continuous basis as the output voltage rises. The MIC5236YM also provides excellent transient response and stability with a highly accurate 500kHz clock.

In terms of protection and fault detection, the MIC5236YM provides several features. It includes over-current, over-voltage, reverse current and thermal protection. Additionally, it provides output fault detection.

The MIC5236YM is offered in a small 2.0mm by 2.75mm, 15-pin WDFN package. It is rated for operation over the extended temperature range of −40°C to +125°C.
