PMIC – Supervisors are a special class of Integrated Circuit (IC) which is primarily used to enforce multiple output voltage rails in order to maintain optimum performance of the microprocessor integrated circuits. They can also be used to monitor the voltage levels on the microprocessor, detect faults in the system, and provide protection against overvoltage, inrush current, too-high temperatures, and other fault conditions.
