The working principle of the MK9173-15CS08LF is based on two digital PLLs and two analog PLLs. This limit frequency is then divided by 16 to achieve the base frequency of 4.2kHz, which is used by the two digital PLLs. The first digital PLL operates in force group pull-in (FGP) mode. Its output frequency is determined by the numerical values loaded into two registers, the Control Word Frequency (CWF) and the VCO Divider (VCD). The second digital PLL operates in spread spectrum mode and its output frequency is determined by the value loaded into the Spread Spectrum Frequency (SSF). The two analog PLLs work together to ensure better signal precision, providing four output frequencies.
