MMA5112NPIKWR2 Working Principle
The MMA5112NPIKWR2 accelerometer uses a “force-balancing” working principle. This means that the sensor is equipped with four high-precision MEMS mechanical cores, one for each axis. Each axis is responsible for the detection of static acceleration of the surface it is facing. When measuring orientation change, these cores detect the force generated by the vibration of the device. When vibration occurs, the forces generated by the four cores work against each other and the output signal is sent to the processing unit. The MMA5112NPIKWR2 is capable of measuring acceleration in three axes simultaneously, which is made possible by the two linear core and two angular core layouts.
