The MMA6280QT is a motion sensor, specifically, an accelerometer, which detects and measures changes in motion and tilt. The capacitance values are then measured by two precision amplifiers and both analog and digital outputs are produced for use in the connected device. The data also includes absolute rotation and tilt to the nearest millidegree.

The MMA6280QT also features an external calibration port, allowing users to externally adjust the sensitivity of the accelerometer, as well as being able to use the best-fit calibration feature, which attempts to compensate for any misalignment or offset of the device.
