Optoisolators, which are also known as optocouplers, photocouplers, opto-isolators or opto-couplers, are an important type of electronic component used for isolating a low-voltage input signal from a higher-voltage output signal in a wide variety of applications. The MOC206R2VM is a particular type of opto-isolator, being a transistor with a photovoltaic output.
