Optoisolators - Transistor, Photovoltaic OutputOptoisolators, also known as optocouplers, are devices used in electronics applications to electrically isolate two electronic circuits. Generally, they consist of an infra-red light-emitting diode (LED) and a photo-transistor. Light from the LED passes through an optical barrier and is then detected by the photo-transistor. This triggers the transistor to conduct current, which bridges the two isolated circuits. A specific type of optoisolator is the MOC211R2VM.
