The MOC3010SR2VM is an optoisolator designed for use with triacs or SCRs in AC or DC control applications. It consists of an infrared, light emitting diode (LED) output, optically coupled to a triac or SCR, in a 6-pin DIP package.

The optoisolator isolates the control circuitry from the high-energy alternating current loads. The LED side of the optoisolator is sensitive to TTL or CMOS logic levels, and is driven by the control circuit. This provides electrical isolation between the control circuit and the load.

The MOC3010SR2VM is a high-speed, 6-pin DIP optoisolator with a maximum 50 mA sink/source capability. It has a maximum forward voltage rating of 5.5 V, and a maximum current rating of 15 mA. It is used in AC or DC control applications such as motor control, lighting control, and power supply control.

The optoisolator works by using the LED side of the optoisolator to control a triac or SCR output. When a logic input signal is applied to the LED, the light emitted causes the SCR or triac to be turned on or off, thus switching the load on or off.
