MP8762GL-Z Application Field and Working Principle:
As one of the latest products of Monolithic Power Systems’ (MPS) MP8762GL-Z series PMICs, the MP8762GL-Z is a highly efficient 10-W DC-DC converter with integrated high-side and low-side MOSFETs offering ultra-fast transient response. This product makes it ideal for applications such as industrial control, MIL/Aero, smart grid, medical, and more. In addition, it includes 26 V output and 0.4 V-4.4 V input regulators.
This robust and highly flexible power management solution also provides integrated protection features such as output over/under voltage protection, over-current protection, and thermal shutdown in a very compact 3mm x 3mm 20-pin QFN package. The MP8762GL-Z can be operated in PWM or PSM (pulse skip mode) mode. The PWM operating mode provides PWM control over the output voltage. The PWM frequency can be adjusted with an external resistor.
The working principle of the MP8762GL-Z is simple. It utilizes an oscillator, voltage feedback, and pulse-widthmodulation (PWM) to regulate its output voltage.
