The MSMCJ10A/TR is designed to operate in automotive applications such as ABS units, BMS units, infotainment systems, instrument clusters, and other automotive electronic systems. This protection diode is designed to work in the -55°C to 125°C temperature range.

This diode is designed to have very high surge suppression capability with a clamping voltage of 10V, 5.6V reverse stand-off voltage, and 0.5A peak pulse current capability. It also has low capacitance<(<5pF) which ensures that it can work with high frequency signals. In addition, it has very low leakage current (<100nA) to ensure efficient operation in automotive applications.

The working principle of this protection diode is quite simple. When a high voltage transient such as ESD, Surge, etc. occurs, the diode becomes reverse biased and starts to conduct current and will reduce the voltage across it to a safe operating level. The voltage across it will be clamped to the breakdown voltage (10V) to prevent further damage to the system.
