MSMCJ7.5A

The MSMCJ7.5A is a transient voltage suppression diode, also known as TVS-Diode. Working principle

The MSMCJ7.5A works by conducting a current in either a forward or reverse direction when the voltage on the device exceeds its reversed breakdown voltage. During a transient voltage event, the diode switches on, drawing current from the source, reducing or clamping the voltage on the line to the device\'s Zener voltage. This ensures the transient voltage event is limited to a safe level and no damage is done to the protected electronic system.

The device can also operate in reverse mode, when a large current pulse is generated. In this case, the current will conduct in a reverse direction due to the diode\'s reverse bias. When this current is dissipated, the device will switch off, thereby reducing the voltage to a safe level.
