MUX509IPWR is a high performance, low power, 8-to-1 multiplexer (MUX). It operates with input voltage levels ranging from 0.8V to 5V and a supply voltage of 2.7 to 5.5V. It provides excellent off-state isolation and ultra-low on-state resistance (source-drain leakage current down to 0.2nA). The MUX509IPWR is available in the space-saving SOP package and is ideal for high speed and low power applications.

Application Field

MUX509IPWR is suitable for a wide range of applications including signal switching, data routing, control, selection, and isolation in signal line bus switch, logic and analog signals. It is a useful multiplexer option for applications requiring low power, high speed, and low switch resistance. It can be used as a signal selector to switch among several different sources and perform signal multiplexing with very low switch resistance (RSS), low crosstalk, and excellent off-state isolation. The MUX509IPWR is also suitable for other applications such as analog and digital signal routing, conversion, switching, and control.

Working Principle

MUX509IPWR operates with a single supply voltage of 2.7 to 5.5V and input voltage levels from 0.8V to 5V. Low on-state resistance (RDS) is achieved using a charge pump (or stacked power supply) structure that combines two complementary FETs – P-FET and an N-FET. The device operates by connecting one of its 8 inputs to the output depending on the logical state of its 3-bit select signal (S0, S1, S2). When the select signal is a logical "1", the associated input is selected. The signal selection is achieved using a gated pass transistor logic architecture that ensures low on-state resistance (RDS) and fast switching time, while the low switch resistance (RSS) is achieved through a low leakage current design. In addition, the MUX509IPWR is designed to minimize crosstalk, off-state leakage and switch-on time.

The MUX509IPWR is built with an advanced technology that provides excellent temperature stability and shutdown current, as well as ultra low static power consumption. It also has an integrated ESD protection protection to protect against ESD damage as high as 8KV HBM. The MUX509IPWR offers a wide range of features and benefits, including low power consumption and fast switching time, low switch resistance, low crosstalk, ultra-low on-state resistance, and excellent off-state isolation.
