Working principle

Firstly, a control interface consisting of a set of register ports is used to read and write data from the component board. The data interface consists of four physical layers - 8b10b encoding, 8G Fibre channel, OTU2, and FEC. In the power interface, up to four single-ended voltage channels or two differential voltage channels work in tandem with the control and data interfaces.The entire process starts with the control interface where the interface is used to select a clock rate and also to turn on or off the channels. Then, the 8b10b encoding performs a transformation on the 8 bits of data by adding a new 10 bit code, resulting in higher data rate. After that, the 8G Fibre Channel starts transmitting 8 Gb/s data. This data is then buffered by the OTU2 layer, before the FEC (Forward Error Correcting) layer checks for any data corruption. Finally, the data is securely stored in the component board.
