TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) diodes are designed to suppress electrical transients that occur on power and data lines. This includes overvoltage, ESD and electrical surge events. MXLCE18A is a unidirectional, low capacitance, low capacitance TVS diode array, designed for ESD protection of high-speed data and signal line applications. MXLCE18A is based on Zener diode technology and uses Minsar\'s proprietary LifeGard(R) protection scheme. Current limiting resistors are integrated on chip to reduce output capacitance below 5pF. MXLCE18A provides excellent protection for data lines against ESD, EFT and surge pulses. In terms of its application field, MXLCE18A can be used to protect high-speed line interfaces such as LVDS, USB 3.1, HDMI, eSATA, DisplayPort, MIPI, SATA and DVI. MXLCE18A is recommended for applications that require ESD or surge with minimal output capacitance. Regarding the working principle, MXLCE18A is a unidirectional low-capacitance TVS diode array. It is based on proprietary LifeGard technology, which enables the diode array to be able to effectively clamp transient voltages without introducing noise. MXLCE18A works by conducting current to the source, thus preventing the potential damages caused by an overvoltage transient or ESD event. MXLCE18A also contains two current limiting resistors, one at the input and one at the output. The resistors serve to reduce the capacitance of the device, thus preventing any circuit noise caused by the device itself. When exposed to an ESD event or a surge condition, MXLCE18A will conduct the excess current away from the protected device, thus preventing it from damage. This is done by the TVS diode shorting the ESD voltage and limiting the current through the device. MXLCE18A is an excellent choice for high-speed line protection from ESD, EFT, and surge events. Its low capacitance makes it an ideal choice for applications that require minimal output capacitance. With its proprietary LifeGard protection scheme and integrated current limiting resistors, it is able to effectively protect your data and signal lines from potential damage.
