TVS diodes provide protection to electronic circuits from voltage transients that have higher power levels than normal operating conditions. The MXLSMLJ45A is a diode specifically designed for ESD (electrostatic discharge) suppression of high-speed data lines such as the Ethernet. The MXLSMLJ45A is a two-terminal device that consists of a Zener diode and a back-to-back avalanche diode.
