The embedded processor core is implemented in CMOS process technology, and operates at a clock frequency of up to 40 MHz.The N79E342RASG embedded microcontroller also contains a number of powerful peripherals. This includes up to 32KB of ROM memory, 4KB RAM and 16 I/O portswith 16-bit programmable registers.The ROM memory supports both the core’s instruction set and the customer’s own code. A wide range of serial communication protocols such as USART, SPI or I2C can be implemented using various of the chip’s 32 serial communication peripherals. There is also an Hardware Security Module (HSM) dedicated for secure code storage (e.g. secure key storage).
