NCL30060BDR2G is a PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) LED driver. It features a wide range of features and applications from which could be used to satisfy multiple customer requirements and needs. It primarily functions as an LED driver and can also be used as a DC-DC converter, PFC (Power Factor Correction) power supply or as an offline Voltage regulator. NCL30060BDR2G includes a 30A switch current, a wide output voltage range of 10.5V - 42V, low losses and analog dimming control. This variety of helpful features brings a great set of advantages to a wide range of operations, such as automotive, industrial, household and commercial.
NCL30060BDR2G LED drivers have an internal high-side switch and an external low-side switch which depend on the current sense handled by external MOSFETs. When the LED’s current sense voltage across the current sense resistor is detected by the NCL30060BDR2G driver, a Sawtooth Mode dimming will be applied to reduce the brightness of the LEDs. This will enable analog dimming control to minimize power consumption in the application. The internal level-shift circuitry enables designers to use an N-channel MOSFET or low-side drive, which will eliminate the reverse-current flow to the LED.
Due to its wide input voltage range and its patented current-mode IC architecture, the NCL30060BDR2G helps in being able to provide a regulated output voltage from the input voltage switching regulators. Thanks to its staggered voltage regulation that it provides, the output voltage ripple and the turn-on voltage overshoot are substantially minimized when compared to other products. Additionally, its high current source and sink capabilities, along with its fast turn on/off time, make it highly suitable for different applicatiions in both consumer and industrial markets.
In the automotive applications, NCL30060BDR2G has the capability of driving large display luminance levels on the dashboard. With its adaptive output PWM modulated based current control feature, the NCL30060BDR2G can provide the required brightness levels in a very efficient manner. In industrial applications, the device provides a high power efficiency with field light application and also meets the UL and EN standards.
The NCL30060BDR2G has multiple outputs, the current controlled flag and the voltage controlled flag. The current controlled flag is used to provide constant current current sink operation with adjustable contrast. The voltage controlled flag is used to provide the output voltage regulation or the input current regulation. Additionally, it includes a wide range of additional features like the OVP (Over Voltage Protection), fast rise and fall time, low current dissipation, and an open source flag for feedbacks.
The NCL30060BDR2G has a wide range of applications and features that can help to meet the customer’s requirements and needs.
