The output voltage is set using a resistor divider connected to the output. This divider eliminates the need to use trim pots to change the output voltage and thus reduces the cost of the NCP114AMX360TCG.
The base voltage of the power transistor is controlled by the error amplifier and is proportional to the voltage difference between the reference voltage and the feedback voltage. When the output voltage is greater than the reference voltage, the base voltage of the power transistor is driven lower, decreasing the output voltage by reducing the current flow through the transistor.
