It is ideally suited for high efficiency, low power consumption, AC/DC power applications for telecom, industrial, and home applications.The NCP1248AD100R2G is an advanced off-line quasiresonant (QR) flyback device specifically designed to achieve the lowest cost, highest efficiency and highest performance goals of today\'s power system designs. The NCP1248AD100R2G features a current mode primary side controller with integrated 2 A IB25V power switch. A wide range of power and standby energy saving, overload and short circuit protection features make it an excellent solution for AC/DC power applications.The NCP1248AD100R2G operates through on/off state, so basic components can be minimal. The device utilizes a flux control loop, which reduces the total power loss and avoids problem of undesired peak current in the conventional hysteretic control. Instead the NCP1248AD100R2G uses the primary side feedback signal to regulate the average current through the power switch.The IC uses quasiresonant (QR) converters to give the highest power efficiency. QR converters are a combination of conventional continuous-conduction mode (CCM), resonant mode and hard switching AC/DC converters.
