NCP1587EDR2G is a 4-channel 3A DC/DC synchronous buck controller capable of achieving an output voltage accuracy of 1 percent. It features ultra-wide input voltage range (up to 75 V), high efficiency, excellent dynamic response, and a suite of protection functions. The NCP1587EDR2G is ideal for a wide range of applications, including but not limited to motor control, server and storage, telecom, audio and video.

The NCP1587EDR2G is based on a proprietary and patented architecture incorporating a high-voltage start-up circuit, low-ripple current mode control, an adaptive on-time area compensation technique and a voltage feedback divider circuit. It enables minimal output voltage cross-regulation and maximum efficiency in a wide range of load current. The proprietary architecture of the NCP1587EDR2G enables it to operate at high efficiency and provide high-speed dynamic response. It also provides excellent protection against input/output overvoltage/overcurrent conditions, allowing reliable performance in applications requiring high levels of power.

The NCP1587EDR2G is ideal for a variety of high-power applications, providing both high efficacy and excellent dynamic response. It can be used to achieve efficiency of up to 95 percent while simultaneously providing fast load transient response. It can be implemented in a wide range of topologies, such as single, dual and triple output. It can also accept up to four input sources and can be selectively enabled as needed. In addition, it features an integrated sense FET for reducing input voltage drop and ensuring accurate voltage ripple, even at high duty cycles.

The NCP1587EDR2G is a highly integrated, cost-effective switching controller intended for the design of high efficiency step-down DC/DC converters in a variety of input and output voltage range configurations. With its PowerGuru™ Technology, high efficiency, wide input/output voltage range, low start-up/operating current, and fast transient response, the NCP1587EDR2G is ideal for a variety of off-line power conversion applications where space, cost, efficiency and performance are critical features.

The NCP1587EDR2G can be configured with external discrete components, such as capacitors, inductors and resistors, to create complete power conversion systems for a variety of applications. The device can handle power up to 4A in a regulated manner, and provides a wide input voltage range of 1.5V to 75V, while also offering enhanced response time, low noise operation and excellent current load transient as well as low ripple voltage performance. Additionally, the integrated protection functions protect against input overvoltage, power stage overcurrent, and output overvoltage conditions.
