The NCP1606BPG Power Factor Correction (PFC) is an important component for many consumer and industrial applications such as LED/LCD display systems, medical equipment, home appliances, and light tracks. To ensure the highest efficiency, the PFC boost circuit is controlled on a constant frequency mode, which allows the switching losses to be reduced nearly to a minimum. The NCP1606BPG controller uses an optimized fixed-frequency control concept to ensure optimal stability and an advanced digital dimming algorithm to minimize the input current total harmonic distortion (THD) to less than 3%.
