The NCP3063DIPINVEVB is an evaluation board for the NCP3063 high voltage integrated circuit formulated by ON Semiconductor for off-line AC/DC and DC/DC application markets. The versatile synchronous rectified buck regulator uses a 5 V input voltage from the isolated 400 V output voltage at up to 60 W of power. The NCP3063DIPINVEVB makes testing and evaluation of the NCP3063 circuit easier, resulting in quick time-to-market. The board supports the evaluation of steps down flyback converter designs from a wide range of applications including power supplies and power converters.
The NCP3063DIPINVEVB design utilises the NCP3063 integrated circuit as the key device. This integrated circuit has an efficiency up to 94.7 %, meeting the fixed-frequency flyback converter requirements as it integrates a high-voltage process on the same die with the adjustable soft-start time and the current-mode control. The circuit features an 8-bit MTPOT and allows for gate drive optimization. The output voltage is adjustable from 0.8 V to 400V through two external resistors. The soft-start functionality adjusts the turn-on time of the converter according to the average current with 0.D to 7.3 D of acceptable range.
The NCP3063DIPINVEVB utilises a synchronous rectifier to offer high efficiency and lower losses. The board includes two separate signals which measure the voltage ripple at the output, two separate waveforms of drain voltage and drain current, and a voltage output setpoint value.
