NCP3063SMDBSTEVB (also referred to as NCP3063SB) is a specific evaluation board from ON Semiconductor which is used for the evaluation and development of DC/DC and AC/DC (Off-Line) switching mode power supplies (SMPS) using its NCP3063 Switching Regulator Controller. It is a low cost, compact size (24.00 mm × 24.00 mm) evaluation board that offers exceptional overall performance. It comes pre-assembled and pre-tested for the NCP3063 device, so customers are able to quickly and easily evaluate the controller with no hassle. Application Field and Working Principle
At the core of the NCP3063SMDBSTEVB evaluation board is the NCP3063 device which is a highly versatile and cost effective controller for DC/DC and AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS applications. The NCP3063SMDBSTEVB evaluation board is built with two distinct stages. For the first stage, the NCP3063 device drives an external power MOSFET and transformer in such a way to generate the required output voltage and the current limit is set with the external resistor. This resistor is externally accessible for allowing users to adjust the output current. In the second stage, the output of the power MOSFET is rectified by the diode and filtered by the output capacitor to generate the desired dc output voltage.
