The most noticeable feature of the NJM317DL1-TE1 is its high-performance line regulation and load regulation. Line regulation is the amount of change in the output voltage when comparing the change in the input voltage and it is very important for systems that require precise control over the output voltage. NJM317DL1-TE1 offers an adjustable output voltage range between 1.2V to 13.2V and utilizes an ultra-low dropout voltage to maintain the accurate output voltage even when the input voltage drops down to 0.4V below its output voltage. The output voltage is also very stable with a very low temperature coefficient of 0.02%.In addition to its excellent line regulation, the NJM317DL1-TE1 also offers excellent load regulation of ±1%. Load regulation is the amount of change in the output voltage when the load current changes from zero to full load. This means that when the load current changes the output voltage will remain steady at the prescribed voltage level.The NJM317DL1-TE1 also features an internal power-on reset protection circuit which eliminates the need for external reset circuits and offers high accuracy with a wide range of input and output voltages. The power-on reset protection also helps to protect the circuit from exceeding its maximum power dissipation. Furthermore, the low overall quiescent current of 9uA at full load conditions is ideal for battery-operated applications.Applications

The NJM317DL1-TE1 is a feedback linear voltage regulator that works on the principle of negative feedback. The regulator consists of an error amplifier and an output transistor which are both connected in series with a feedback loop. When the input voltage is greater than the output voltage, the error amplifier senses this difference and generates a negative voltage that is applied to the output transistor. This causes the voltage across the output transistor to drop, reducing the current passing through the transistor and ultimately reducing the output voltage until it reaches the prescribed level. Conversely, when the input voltage drops below the output voltage, the error amplifier senses this difference and generates a positive voltage that is applied to the output transistor. This causes the voltage across the transistor to rise, increasing the current passing through the transistor and ultimately increasing the output voltage until it reaches the desired output voltage.Conclusion
