The kit operates in the globally available 2.4GHz ISM band and provides designers with access to 780-1000MHz, 868MHz and 915MHz options through the built-in crystal oscillators. The kit has a ARM Cortex-M0 processor and robust connectivity and security features. The kit is ideal for applications such as home automation, mobile applications, sports and fitness, Bluetooth and NFC-based consumer products, connected medical devices, IoT & M2M applications.Working PrincipleThe NRF51422-EK kit can be used to evaluate and develop products enabled by Nordic Semiconductor\'s Bluetooth Smart and antenna-enabled ultra low-power wireless SoC. It also enables evaluation and development of 2.4GHz ISM band peripheral devices that include Bluetooth and NFC-compatible products. The hardware consists of the EK board, the EK-RF PCB, and various connectors and components.The main board (EK) consists of the Nordic Semiconductor nRF51422 SoC, which contains a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0 processor that runs at 16MHz and provides up to 512KB of flash memory and 32KB of SRAM. The board also contains several power and clock components such as an external 32MHz clock, power switch, power LED, and power input. The main board also provides access to the signals from the nRF51422 SoC with several breakouts for user connection.The EK-RF PCB consists of a range of RF components and connectors. The Nordic Semiconductor nRF51-DK antenna design is used to support Bluetooth and NFC-compatible applications.
