Diodes - Rectifiers - Arrays
NTSV30120CTG is a diode rectifier array chip from ROHM semiconductors. It is an array of 12 zener diodes. It is a bridge rectifier array for automotive, consumer and industrial applications. The NTSV30120CTG is an ideal solution for creating a reverse bias protection circuit for power supplies, DC converters and large MOS circuits.
Application Field
The NTSV30120CTG is a bridge rectifier array for automotive, consumer and industrial applications. It is also commonly used for Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications and is compatible with IEEE 802.3u PoE standards, eliminating the need for additional components and resulting in a compact, low-cost solution.
It is also suitable for general rectification circuits and can be used in switching power supplies, AC adapter circuits and DC/DC converters. Its small body allows it to be applied to high density module boards.
Working Principle
The NTSV30120CTG consists of twelve zener diodes connected in an array with a common anode and twelve cathodes that can be connected to a circuit for direct rectification. As a bridge rectifier, it consists of two sections - a half-wave rectifier and a full-wave rectifier.
The half-wave rectifier section of the NTSV30120CTG is made up of six diodes and converts the AC signal coming in to DC signal by only allowing current to flow through the positive half of the signal, while the full-wave rectifier section consists of six diodes and converts the AC signal to a DC signal by allowing current to flow through both the positive and negative half of the signal.
The NTSV30120CTG is also capable of handling high surge current up to 10A, making it ideal for rectification of heavy-duty power supplies. In addition to its rectification capabilities, the chip also features thermal shutoff protection which will shut off current if the temperature of the chip rises too high, providing extra protection from harm.
