The OM5569/NT322FM evaluation and development kit is designed to provide the user with all the components and programs needed to evaluate, modify and develop the application of binary tags within the RFID sphere. This generation 2 standard kit is based on the thin-film silicon MMIC process and provides full support of the EPC global and currently most widely used standard, the ISO-18000-6C (UHF Gen2) protocol. It provides high-performance near-field communication as well as a highly flexible 8-channel multi-gate transceiver design that is ideal for RFID applications.
The OM5569/NT322FM protocol is based on an eight-channels receiver with two separate receivers and transceivers. The first contains a receiver transceiver with a two-level gain control for optimum performance in both poor and excellent communication conditions. The receiver runs at a frequency of 915MHz and has a 6 dBi omni-directional antenna as standard. The second transceiver is based on a broadband (up to 24GHz) receiver amplifier for an improved signal-to-noise ratio, and a low-power switching channel for optimum power. The multi-gate transceivers enable stand-alone operation without the need for an external control unit.
The kit comes with the OM5569/NT322FM board, which has been designed to accommodate various board types, including the CBB (Contactless Batteryless) and the HAT (Harvest-and-Transmit) boards. The OM5569/NT322FM is powered by either the 3V or 5V DC supply and is compatible with a wide range of RFID readers and remote antennas. It is suitable for physical applications such as security (e.g. toy authentication), accommodation (e.g. access control), laboratory, and hobbyist applications.
