OPT3006YMFR Working Principle:

The OPT3006YMFR is a digital light-to-digital converter and uses an infrared (IR) sensor and a low-noise, 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) to measure ambient light. The IR sensor absorbs between wavelengths of 400 nm and 1100 nm and converts it to an electrical signal. This signal is converted to a digital format by the low-noise 16-bit ADC. The data is then processed by the Microcontroller.

The OPT3006YMFR also has a programmable interrupt function, which is triggered when the output of the ADC reaches a user-set threshold. This allows for a low-power alarm state and allows for applications requiring a high level of accuracy, such as ambient light sensing, to be accurately performed with minimal power consumption.

The integral programmable registers of the OPT3006YMFR, such as the integration time, the ADC resolution, and the interrupt thresholds, can be programmed to ensure precise measurements. The device also features an Overtemperature Protection (OTP) system which turns off the main power or activates an alarm when the temperature exceed a set threshold.
