TVS or Transient Voltage Suppressor diodes are designed for transient and ESD protection. They are commonly referred to as surge suppressors, rail gap suppressors, and tvs diode array (TVS-Diodes). The P4SMA7.5CA-E3/61 TVS-Diode is a component created by NXP Semiconductors as part of a series of high-speed, low-capacitance transient voltage suppressors. The P4SMA7.5CA-E3/61 is an uni-directional diode with an ultra low capacitance of 0.1 pF. Each P4SMA7.5CA-E3/61 diode is electrically characterized to withstand a pulse width of 1ns. It is also designed to suppress transients up to 7.5A with standoff voltage ratings from 5V to 183V. This breakdown voltage is available for current ratings from 1.5A to 7.5A.
This component is designed primarily for computer, telecommunications, and consumer electronics applications, where an overcurrent or high voltage pulse threatens hardware or data integrity.
